J.S. Silverstein is an author of children’s books and stories written to engage both the mind and the heart. Writing as Shmuel Silverstein HaKohen, he authors Beor Panecha’s K’sod Siach series of divrei Torah, which trace the hidden connections running through the Torah — from the Tzohar of Noach’s ark to the two Yonahs.

What K’sod Siach means
Every d’var Torah by Shmuel Silverstein HaKohen is part of the K’sod Siach series. The name comes from the Kedusha, where we say na’aritzcha v’nakdishcha k’sod siach sarfei kodesh: “we will revere and sanctify You like the hidden discourse of the holy seraphim.”
Sod is the secret, the hidden layer of meaning. Siach is speech, a conversation. Together they describe what the series sets out to do: to listen closely to the words of the Torah and uncover the hidden connections woven within them.
